Weber Shandwick at the Public Affairs Asia Government Affairs Forum
Weber Shandwick was proud to sponsor the Public Affairs Asia Government Affairs Forum; which took place in Beijing on 18 May 2017. A dedicated conference focused on public affairs and government relations in China currently enjoying its eighth year, the forum’s goal was to examine new strategies for effective engagement in China’s rapidly evolving government, regulatory and policy landscape.
“Clearly in China, you see a shift from an export-driven economy to a consumer-driven economy,” said Jack Leslie, Chairman of Weber Shandwick, giving the keynote address of the conference – focusing on The Branding Boom, its effects on Chinese trade and the impact of fake news on consumer trust in journalism. “In China, by 2022, the middle-class economy alone will be 550 million strong, positioning it to be the third most populous economy in the world.”
Held at the Beijing Capital Renaissance Hotel, this year’s installment of the Government Affairs Forum explored the impact of geo-politics, economics and shifting trade and regulatory approaches for the public affairs and government relations strategists operating at the frontline.
